Ryan Booth

Meet Ryan

at Pocket Creatives

Ryan joined the video editing team at Pocket Creatives in 2019, and has been thrust straight into action! There was no time to waste, as he helped to increase our capacity in our busiest time to date.

So far, Ryan has helped to tackle some big projects for our newest clients, and is gradually integrating into our established repeat clients too.

Quickfire Questions:

What do you do in your role?

Being a video editor is great. We’re here to help tell a story, sometimes it’s harder to unearth but it’s always there, we just have to find it bit by bit. There is this real sense of joy when things start to take shape. The possibilities are fairly endless, luckily this is a collaborative process and I get to collaborate with a great group of people in the Pocket Creatives team and clients.

What do you actually do?

What do your team think you do?

Hopefully everything that I think I do…!

Most embarrassing story?

I probably do too many embarrassing things to list!

What’s your favourite thing about your job?

My favourite part(s) of the job is collaborating with great group of people and getting the opportunity to be creative. I think we make a great team and that is pretty awesome. I genuinely enjoy what I do so I never dread coming into work.

What keeps you motivated?

I can’t stand letting people down, so that plays a big part. Coffee plays a part and when all else fails there is nothing like a bit of music. Truth be told the job itself is pretty motivating.

Most annoying habit?

I have a tendency to talk a little too much. It annoys me so I can image how others feel!

What are you happiest doing when you’re not working?

I used to collect passport stamps, these days I’m more grounded and watch a lot of Film and a lot of series, which it probably why I got into this industry in the first place. Your likely to find me in a comfortable chair glued to screen (not unlike work) Fortunately, I’m not a complete couch potato, I do enjoy a good gym session.

Some of my favourite video projects:

“I’ve worked on a fair amount of cool projects with Pocket Creatives, you can see a few of these below, so picking a favourite is pretty challenging. During lockdown I edited a Sky commercial for – a Blue light protection company – Ocushield. With the added pressure of lockdown on top, it was quite a rush and a massive relief when it was all signed off (I can’t think of a better way I could have taken my mind off of the situation). Since being back in the studio we did a stop motion project for Soap and Glory, as a fan of the stop motion technique I really enjoyed my part of bringing the products to life and getting to use some animation techniques that isn’t needed in a standard video project.”
