People & Portrait Photography

Give us your best...

Welcome!

You must be here because you’re interested in our portrait photography and people-based photography.

We work with lots of businesses and individual clients to provide portrait photography outdoors, at your location or in our London studio.

Take a look at our portfolio below – it’s a bit of a scroll as there’s lots to see, so here are some shortcuts to our full portrait photography portfolio, client testimonials and a little more information about how we work and who we work with.

Our Range

As you’ll already have gathered, we can turn our focus to a wide range of photography types. The benefit that delivers for our clients is the ability to successfully capture lots of different types of content in a single shoot. We’ll frequently be able to mix people and products together, meaning that you don’t have to look for a company experienced in just one or the other.

We’re also not adverse to a challenge. In this past year, not only have we tackled a number of human-based projects, but we’ve repeatedly shot with both children and animals. What’s that famous saying again….? 🙂

What they say:

“Steven at Pocket Creatives has consistently delivered high quality, interesting photographs for multiple story-telling/people-centred projects. He instinctively knows how to keep an audience engaged through a series of images that really tell a story. He goes out of his way to get to grips with the brief and is professional, reliable and friendly. But more importantly, he has the vision to get the most out of every opportunity – whether it’s an unexpected environment or a straight forward corporate head-shot. I don’t hesitate in recommending him and hope to continue to work with him in the future.”

Dominique Mallion, Philips UK

Pocket Creatives were very helpful before, during and after the shoot. They are very methodical in their work. The results are exactly what we discussed and more. I thoroughly enjoyed working with them and would recommend them without a doubt.”

Founder, Thomas Tipple

“Steven and his team at Pocket Creatives are fantastic! Really easy to communicate with, quick to respond, great idea generation and very hard working. I can’t recommend them highly enough – they have been a huge support while we have launched a new online & social media-based clothing business. From model and product photography and video through to social media, website and general business support, they have been great.”

“It was a pleasure working with Steven and the Pocket Creatives team. Their advice at the start was incredibly valuable and, as the project progressed, their unfailingly calm, patient and responsive approach allowed us to create a video we’re incredibly proud of. The feedback we’ve received has been fantastic. I’d highly recommend them.”

Stephen Wood, The Wellbeing Project

“We were recommended Pocket Creatives by our PR agency, and have been thrilled with their professionalism, responsiveness, willingness to implement feedback and flexibility. Our internal challenges often mean we’re a little last minute and work to short deadlines, but Pocket have exceeded our expectations and created a high standard of work with very little guidance. We’ve already commissioned additional activity and will be continuing to send work their way in the months and years to come.”

There’s a story behind every expression.

It might sound silly, but when we photograph people, we put the person first. That means putting yourself in their shoes, showing a bit of empathy, making sure that they’re relaxed to get the best of them through your lens. We think that’s the key to great portrait photography, it’s not all about camera settings.

Funnily enough, we tend to work most frequently with people who would prefer not to be in front of the camera than the opposite, so making people feel at ease is really important and something that we’ve had to becoming skilled in.

We have a wide variety of modifiers to shoot with soft and hard flash light or utilise natural light outdoors, always mindful of wanting to make sure our people look and feel as good as they deserve.

We can work both in the studio and on location to achieve a wide range of looks, styles and finishes in our portrait photography.

What we can do

Portrait photography covers a huge range of applications. We shoot bloggers and influencers showing off the latest fashion trends, personal trainers pushing clients to their limit, business leaders and entrepreneurs, aerial performers, models, celebrities, and actors’ head shots.

We’ll also capture portrait photography of business owners who need images for PR releases on many of our product and lifestyle shoots.

Who we’ve worked with

Some of our highlights were being asked by The Book People to capture promotional shots of Claudia Winkleman for their Bedtime Stories competition, photographing The Wellbeing Project full team in their London office, and creative rooftop team portraits with the young entrepreneurs at ImIn. We spent an afternoon shooting portrait photography with the lovely people at Founders Forum, capturing sets of group shots with many of the companies under their umbrella. We also created a portrait for PushMe founder George Kalligeros who earned his place in Forbes Magazine’s 30 under 30 this year.
