Beauty video at it’s manicured best

It’s been a BIG year in the beauty world for us, and we’re enjoying the varied project types: from tanning products to facemasks and haircare. This video project is one of three for Leighton Denny’s Expert Nails, and is the flagship of our beauty video production projects so far.

We have all the key ingredients: a fantastic set of products, bursting with colour and vibrancy, a location that screams London: Notting Hill, a specialist team made up of hairstylists, makeup artists, nail technicians and, of course our team of creatives. For a change, we also had the summer sun 🙂

The brief here was to create an energetic beauty video promo that could be used across all social channels, including 1:1 square crops for Instagram. We used our brand new DJI Ronin support for those smooth motion shots, and recorded using our lightweight Sony A7s series cameras. After a lot of studio-based work this year it was refreshing to get out on the streets and make the most of the weather as well, while we have it!

There’s lots that go into a shoot like this, but the long day was well worth it for the results. We spend a lot of time selecting the right model, and Marie did a wonderful job for us throughout. I love shoots which involve a big shoot – particularly where the personalities mesh really well, and the energy is infectious.

The locations were also great choices – Notting Hill says London in a way that few other parts of our capital do, and the Airbnb location we sourced for the in-home section worked like a charm.
