at Pocket Creatives

Bryony oversees all Photography projects from pre-production to delivery, creating shot lists, scheduling shoots down to the last minute and turning ideas into reality.

You’ll meet Bryony while planning your project and managing your shoot. She’ll very often be seen juggling props, backgrounds, ingredients and ticking off lists.

My favourite photography:

Photography has very quickly become my world at Pocket, and while i’m proud of all the work that we deliver, there are some images that stand out that for one reason or another become a favourite.

Quickfire Questions:

What do you do in your role?

My role is to manage all things photography related, from inception to finished product and everything in between, which keeps me very busy!

I am responsible for ensuring that each photography project runs as smoothly as possible every step of the way. Starting with working with clients to find out their wants or ideas, imaginatively bringing them to life through my extensive preproduction process and finally managing their shoot to make sure they get exactly what they’re looking for.

Working with our Photographer Kelly we use our combined photography expertise and creativity to set up and capture a seemingly endless stream of imagery! Incorporating fresh perspectives and unique compositions that make up our own style.

As we don’t stick to one particular area of photography I have to be ready for anything and able to switch mindsets from one project to the next in a split second, from baubles to stationary, chilli sauce to beauty products – keeping track of so many projects all at once is definitely a skill.

If I’m not prepping, processing or running a shoot then I will be planning the development of the photography department, streamlining our processes and working out how to most efficiently run this side of the business. I also spend a lot of time liaising with the video team to make sure we’re all up to date on each other’s projects and if I or they can lend a hand with anything.

All of this can take a lot of energy and coffee, luckily I have both in abundance!

What do you actually do?

Never stop moving!

My day to day consists of organising many projects all at once, writing proposals, creating mood boards, shot lists and schedules, sourcing locations, props and models, assisting, coordinating and running shoots and above all keeping our clients happy.

You could say I’m a one stop photography production shop!

Plus, I make sure that Kelly is where she needs to be and knows what’s she’s shooting at all times

I am also the office caffeine guru and when I have a spare moment, I can be found educating the rest of the team on how to make the perfect cup of coffee.

What do your team think you do?

They probably think I just scroll through beautiful imagery on Pinterest all day and make hundreds of lists, but I’m actually researching and planning our next photography shoot.

So much of what I do is dependent on my own creative ideas so I need to stay up to date with Photography trends and constantly have a source of inspiration available to me so I know that what I am proposing is relevant but also bespoke to each of our clients.

What’s your favourite thing about your job?

Creating with a bunch of like-minded and inspiring individuals daily isn’t a bad way to spend my days!

What keeps you motivated?

My motivation comes from the diversity of the job. Because at Pocket Creatives we don’t confine ourselves to one specific area of photography or video I am constantly learning, adapting and challenging myself.

Most annoying habit?

Taking my sarcasm too far, I don’t know if everyone always understands it!

What are you happiest doing when you’re not working?

Give me a coffee and a walk around town and I’m happy.
